Hon. Justice Mohammed Ibrahim Appointed Supreme Court President in an Acting Capacity

Hon. Justice Mohammed Ibrahim has been appointed to serve as Supreme court president in an acting capacity.This follows the retirement of Dr.Willy Mutunga as the chief Justice.

In his farewell speach Dr.mutunga stated that he leave behind a versatile, confident and competent collective leadership in the institution, which has confronted every challenge thrown its way with resolve and finality.

He thanked the Judiciary Family and Kenyans who supported him during his tenure as Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya.

Justice Mohammed K. Ibrahim was appointed a judge of the inaugural Supreme Court of Kenya on June 16, 2011.

Until then, Justice Ibrahim had served as High Court Judge since his appointment on May 22, 2003, serving in Eldoret, Nairobi and Mombasa.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and was admitted to the Roll of Advocates on the January 11, 1983
